Spider-Man: Homecoming is the new take on the classic Peter Parker we all know and love. By not only making $117 million its opening weekend, but also scoring 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, Homecoming has been noted as probably the best Spider-Man movie of all time.
The movie describes Peter Parker, portrayed by Tom Holland, immediately following Civil War and returning to his life back in Queens as a High School student in Midtown High School. We join him and his friends on their journey on learning how to survive high school with Peter’s added stress of being Spider-Man. Desperately wanting to return and fight with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and the rest of the Avengers, he attempts to prove that he is more than just a kid with powers.
Homecoming is the first Spider-Man movie to really have Spidey so involved in the Marvel universe while still keeping the teenager in Peter Parker. Tom Holland does a fantastic job of expressing the excitement of Peter Parker being this typical high school student who is capable of “stopping a bus with his bare hands.” Join Peter and his friends on journey of love, adventure, danger, and tortures of high school during the summer movie of 2017! I would highly recommend watching the film and welcoming Tom Holland and Spider-Man into the Marvel world.
